Join us August 26th, in celebration of World Breastfeeding Month and Black Breastfeeding Week, for an MCH training on implicit bias, racism’s impact on Washington’s birth and breastfeeding/chestfeeding outcomes, and maternal-infant mortality. We will look at case studies that highlight the success and direct community actions of Black lactation consultants, maternity care nurses, doctors, doulas, and midwives.

This training will teach you how to:

-Access resources for your clients
-Gain a better understanding of individualized prenatal/postpartum care

Scholarships are available for birth workers*. Please contact Breastfeeding.Friendly@doh.wa.gov for more information.

Speakers TBA

*Birth work is a broad definition that includes: doulas, lactation consultants, maternity care nurses and anyone who supports pregnant people and people who are lactating.
