Oregon Dance Education Organization (ODEO) is proud to present the Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Access (I.D.E.A) Series, a series of online professional development workshops and panel discussion for dance educators and the dance community. Monthly sessions will feature leaders and experts from Oregon and the Pacific NW leading the way towards a more inclusive, equitable, diverse, and accessible dance community in Oregon.

IDEA Series #6: The Access Divide: Socio-economic and regional access to dance
Income and location often play a significant role in an individual’s access to dance education, performances, resources, and opportunities. Panelists from across Oregon will have a robust discussion about how these factors impact access to dance and how they compare in both urban and rural locations.
Additionally, how does the intersectionality of race, gender, religion, ethnicity, and more, play into access?
How do these topics come up in everyday teaching scenarios?
What issues to access has the COIVD-19 pandemic revealed and what are some strategies to addressing them?

The views expressed in each presentation are those of the speaker(s) and do not constitute endorsement of ODEO.

All sessions will be online via Zoom – a meeting link will be provided in the registration confirmation email.

Professional development and clock hours credit are available upon request.
